What if you could start all over again, a new beginning? What if you could live in peace, lie down to sleep and not be tormented by painful thoughts, questions or memories? What if you could live in complete peace and inner security in the midst of external conflicts and persecution? A reality or a utopia? Continue reading
Conflicts, anxieties, uncertainties and sometimes simple memories can torment a person's life. Let's be honest, human existence has never been and will never be easy, tragedies and bitter experiences are part of the human journey. And even those who in their minority don't experience such episodes also struggle with deep existential questions searching for a purpose, a reason to exist
It seems utopian to live a life in total peace and inner security despite the turbulent circumstances around us. However, when we look at a group of people in history who suffered persecution, and still do, who bore the pain of torture in their bodies, and many still do, but remained in inner peace, an inexplicable security, it seems that they saw and see something above the circumstances above this life and so this world could no longer and cannot remove them from that supernatural state.
I'm talking about Christians from all eras, those who faced lion arenas, were burned alive, lost family, possessions and life itself, endured humiliation and pain, but couldn't deny their faith. Why? They held up the reason for everything, the answer to life, they held up a treasure so precise that only those who hold it up can understand what it is like to be able to renounce everything in order not to deny their Lord, their savior.
When you have an encounter with the Savior everything changes, an internal restart takes place, inner recalibration begins, the present era of despair and uncertainty fades away and the beginning of a new era begins in your heart. As it is written:
"Jesus therefore said to the Jews who believed in him, 'If you abide in my word, you are my disciples indeed;
And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
John 8:31,32"
Jesus sent us into all the world to proclaim salvation, hope and life, and that's exactly what we're proclaiming to you: a new life.
"(...) Jesus said, 'I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.
John 3:3"
And the apostle Peter said:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has regenerated us to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that can never perish, be tarnished or lose its value. Inheritance stored up in heaven for you
1 Peter 1:3-4
You may wonder, how do I make a fresh start and find this peace?
First step Repent!
Repentance is a change of mind of someone who has understood that their life is not right, that they need to make amends with God and that they need God's favor.
You know, there are many people who would even like to believe in God, but their hearts are too proud to recognize their mistakes and their real condition of a life far from God.
Step two! Believe!
Believe in Jesus as the only way to get to God.
The human being sinned at the beginning of the human race and from then on all copies (children) are generated with this corruption inherent in the human being. We owe the Creator a debt! The payment? Extermination of the defective human race. What did God do? He sent his son Jesus to pay in our place, an innocent man dying in our place.
The only way to God is through Jesus, and to recognize Jesus you need a humble and contrite heart.
Step three. Confess!
The apostle Paul teaches:
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9,10
